Welcome to Job Hunt Manager
In the past few months, I've encountered a challenging job market for remote opportunities, especially with the layoffs in the tech industry. Some offers receive up to 800 candidates. Given this conditions, it's likely that your CV may not even be reviewed.
Why Job Junt Manager?
During my job search, I found myself scrambling to find interview dates, contacts, or application details buried in my email or scattered across files. It was chaotic, so I realized the need to organize all this information, including job specifications, links, and LinkedIn profiles of interviewers, among many other things.
That's when I decided to create Job Hunt Manager for my own usage, incorporating my own feedback along the way. Eventually, I realized it could benefit others, so I dedicated a couple of weeks to expand the application.
There was another motivation behind this project. In late November, I faced a health issue. It was unexpected but it happened. After spending several weeks in the hospital, coupled with some undesirable events at work last year, made me lose my self-confidence. Building something useful for others, and offering it for free, felt like a way to feel better.
How I created Job Junt Manager
Job Hunt Manager was created using the TALL Stack, which comprises Laravel, Livewire, Alpine, and Tailwind.
Despite some opinions stating that PHP is declining, I believe the opposite. PHP continues to evolve, and Laravel, in particular, remains the most comprehensive framework I've encountered. It makes building a minimum viable product (MVP) a breeze.
Moving Forward
I'm currently occupied with a long-term project, but I plan to continue improving and adding features to Job Hunt Manager in the coming months.
I envision integrating with third-party apps and perhaps even developing mobile apps. Constructive feedback is always appreciated!
I hope you find Job Hunt Manager useful.
Until the next update!
